In 1994 John Trujillo decided to
make his first short feature LAW OF THE FIST. He had written the script and cast the film but there was 2 problems...he
had no money or crew! He was in between jobs and collecting unemployment so with that little money he starting shooting
the film on video a little at a time...by himself! It took 2 years to complete but it had it's problems. It needed
to be color corrected, the sound needed sweetning and he was unable to edit it the way he wanted. Not happy with the
project he sat on it for several years until he one day he decided to revisit the film. This time he restored it to his original
vision...or close to it. He shot 3 additional scenes even calling back some of the original actors to reprise their roles
nearly 7 years later. He also restored the color and sound and even put together a 15 song soundtrack to accompany the film.
Now he was able to send it out to film festivals for which he took home 2 awards including an Honorable Mention and Best Short
Action Film.
